Despite her gender, Alexandra intends to continue that heritage and let no man stand in her way. But her father, anxious for grandchildren, teams up with an old friend whose equally stubborn and brilliant son, Pierce Williams, has no time for a frivolous woman to slow down his life. When Alexandra is sent to Salem to help the elder Williams catalogue and sketch a scientific collection for the Royal Society of London, she has no idea that she is being dangled as marriage material for Pierce. Both are firmly determined to ignore each other, but Alexandra is drawn to Pierce’s quick wit, irresistible charm, and enviable engineering skill. However, close encounters with Pierce trigger an increase in the strange prophetic visions she has had all her life––visions that have no scientific basis or explanation. When a vision reveals the destruction of a ship Pierce designed, built, and will sail on, she must risk a deepening love for Pierce against the loss of his life and all her future dreams.

Love burns hotter the second time around…
Two years ago, the medical world was shaken by scandal, and Payton Daniels’s family was at the center of it. But Payton’s ex, Blake Hiller, hasn’t forgiven her for leaving, and when he enrolls in the same medical ethics class, she panics. She can’t run the risk of him telling everyone who she really is.
As if being at the same university isn’t enough, both Blake and Payton land the same internship. Forced together, their passion for each other reignites, but when Payton is asked to testify in her father’s high-profile trial, she must choose between risking her acceptance into medical school to help her father, and losing every connection to her past—including the only guy she’s ever loved.

Excerpt

Blake

I cracked my knuckles and waited for Andrew to take his tongue out of my ex’s mouth.

He wiped his lips with the back of his hand, and a wide grin spread across his pretty-boy face.

Fucker.

“Hey, Blake! Have you met Payton Daniels?” Andrew motioned to the girl who left me broken and forgotten.

Yes. I knew her all too well. I chuckled at the irony of the halo perched atop her auburn hair, the soft curls cascading over her shoulder. How could I forget her? When I flew to Mexico for my graduation trip, she was my loving girlfriend. And when I got back… Well, I came back to nothing.

Her green eyes opened so wide they looked like they might pop out of her head. Yeah, I’m surprised to see you, too, little Miss Runaway.

Wait, Daniels? That was her mom’s last name, not her dad’s. Interesting. Stretching my neck, I decided I needed to keep cool. I couldn’t freak out on her, not here. Her hand on Andrew’s abs was all the explanation I needed, making my time spent agonizing about what I could have done differently the past two years a complete waste.

“No, I’ve never met Payton Daniels before.” Payton flinched when I emphasized her last name. Of course she did. To me, she would always be Payton Cooper. I’d go along with her charade for now. Her pleading look liquefied some of the ice that had hardened my heart the past couple years.

The ice wall solidified again when Andrew slid his arm around Payton’s waist. She leaned in to his touch, and I wanted to punch a hole through a wall.

I stuck out my hand, pretending I had never met her. She extended hers, and we shook. “Nice to meet you.” My thumb skimmed over her knuckles, and her skin, albeit a little clammy, was just as soft as I remembered.

Payton’s voice cracked. “Nice to meet you, too.” She started to pull her hand away, but I tightened my grip. Her mouth thinned into a hard, narrow line as she stared at our interlocked hands.

Seriously? What did she have to be mad about? My stomach muscles tensed like I had done ten rounds of 8 Minute Abs, and the dormant anger that lingered in every crevice of my body heated to a steady simmer, ready to erupt.

I let go of her hand, and she smiled at Andrew, batting her eyes. What a bitch. Who did she think she was, prancing in here, going googly-eyed for the fraternity’s token manwhore? The lingering warmth of her touch burned my clenched fist.

“Blake and I are fraternity brothers.” He stuck out his hand, and we did the A Sig handshake.

I figured small talk would tear her focus away from blatantly eyeing Andrew’s abs. Her hand kept sliding across his stomach like a windshield wiper set to slow-mo. “Payton, what’s your major?”

Andrew’s eyes laser focused on her cleavage, and I was two seconds away from tearing one of the cardboard clouds off the wall and beating him over the head with it. I couldn’t stand the way he looked at her, the same way he looked at every other girl he was about to—in his words—take to “pleasure town.” This also meant I’d be kicked out of our room for the night.

“I’m majoring in biology with a focus on pre-med.” Her response was robotic. This had been her answer since middle school. Right up until she did her little disappearing act. And now she had magically reappeared.

Abraca-fuckin-dabra.

My New Way

No More Miss Nice Nessa.

In most of my reviews i have kept things nice but from now on i am going all out with them no holding back no nicey nicey  if they suck im just going to say it. If it is how its written or the characters or bond between the book and the reader im letting it all out from now on. I have had authors saying to groups that they need to know if its not good but when the readers/bloggers turn around and say if it is bad, some of the authors get pissed off about it. but isnt that what they want to hear if it does suck so they can grow in their writing.

Pandora

 SYNOPSIS

“I want to talk to you,” Pandora said.
“Wait a minute.” Xavier went off and came back with two glasses of wine and half a Mars bar. “Here,” he said, “caramel goes great with wine.”
Mindlessly Pandora ate it. She ignored the Chardonnay. She’d had enough for Dutch courage but she didn’t want to get drunk.
“Can’t you see that this isn’t right?” she said carefully. “You can’t just go about kidnapping people.”
“You’ve said this already.”
“And I’m saying it again,” Pandora said fiercely. “I made a mistake but I have a life, you know.”
He sat down and watched her. “Don’t you like the wine?” he asked.
“Did you hear what I said?”
“Yes. I heard you the other time too.”
Pandora thought she could have handled rage or threats better than this calm response. He was exasperating, she thought furiously. How could she get through to him?
“You’re even more beautiful than I thought,” Xavier said softly. “You have the most wonderful skin. And I love the way your hair curls around your face.”
“Xavier, listen to me: I want to go home,” Pandora said tartly.
He shrugged. “That’s impossible, Panda.”
She could have screamed. “I don’t want to be here,” she enunciated.
His eyes flickered. “You’ll change your mind.”
“I won’t! I want to go home!” Pandora heard in surprise that her words sounded like echoes. “Something’s weird,” she whispered. “My voice is all strange in my head.”
“I spiked your Mars bar,” Xavier said calmly. “Come on.” He picked her up effortlessly and toted her to the bedroom. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”
***
Pandora Fitchett’s life has taken a bad turn. Very bad.
Treachery lies behind the closed doors of British government’s most secret services, and when Pandora finds herself an innocent victim of a treason plot, she has nowhere left to turn.
At least that’s what she assumes.
Stalked by a ruthlessly logical cyber terrorist who follows her every intimate move, and who then has her kidnapped, she is thrown into a tornado of action-packed and violent world events.
Pandora’s only chance of safety will depend on a man who has no empathy, no sense of justice or obligation. A man who can destroy lives from his laptop.
Who is “Dragon” and why is he feared by so many?
Captor, or saviour? In a passionate story of intrigue and espionage, Pandora is about to discover nothing can be assumed about anyone. Even herself.

EXCERPT

Xavier touched her hair with a gentle hand.
“I like your short hair. You look like an elf. I saw the pictures of when you
had it long. That was nice too. Why did you cut it, Panda?”
She was bewildered
by the change of subject but answered automatically. “I just wanted a change.”
“I told you that I
was a bit worried, right? Because I can’t read emotion very well? Well, I had
some questions about your situation so my people sent me an expert. He said
girls always change the way they look when they’re very upset.”
“Did he?” Pandora
got that stuck-in-a-horror-film feeling again. “Well, I guess that’s one thing
he was right about. I cut it when I broke off the engagement.” She took another
belt of wine. She was in the middle of Africa and there was nowhere to go.
Xavier seemed to have given up on having sex so she was safe on that score. She
may as well get smashed.
“I was wondering
what you’d do with your hair now,” Xavier said meditatively. “You’ve had a bit
of shock these last few days.”
“You think?”
Pandora finished her wine and poured herself another glass.
“Are you angry?”
Xavier looked slightly worried. “Your voice is a bit flat. Did I say something
wrong?”
She looked at him
helplessly. “Xavier, I’ve seen one man knifed and another shot. I’ve discovered
that my boss is a traitor and that I was duped into being a traitor too. On top
of that I’ve been drugged and carted half way around the world. What on earth
can I do to my hair to express what I feel?”
Xavier laughed.
“You’re very funny, Panda. You’ve no idea how glad I am that you’re here!”

Excerpt

“…do it in Jeri’s old room.”
Earl’s words filtered through the
cotton stuffing in my head, barely making sense.
“Yeah, well, seemed fitting.” He
paused. “Listen, Richard, I called you as a courtesy, on account of how you
said one got away from you yesterday. But it took me an hour after the girl
collapsed to get the boy to finally conk out, and with that damn scum-sucker
metabolism of theirs, you know I can’t promise either of ‘em will be down for
long. You and your boys want any part of this, you better hurry up and get
here.”
Alarm struggled through me,
weighed down by an exhaustion that wanted to smother my mind back into sleep.
Scum-sucker? He…
“Hang on,” Earl said as though
interrupting someone. “One of them ain’t breathing the same as they were.”
My heart began to pound harder
while I fought to open my eyes. Breathing? He sounded so far away. How could he
hear anyone breathing?
Footsteps clunked on the hardwood
floor. Light pierced the blackness around me as I managed to lift my eyelids. I
was on the bed, facing the doorway. In the window seat, Zeke was slumped, his
head resting on the wall. The room was dark around us, though the hall light
was on.
Earl came to the door. In one
hand, he held a phone to his ear, and at the sight of me, he made an angry
noise.
“What’d I tell you? The girl’s
awake.”
He dropped the phone onto the
window seat as he strode toward me, and all my dull commands to my muscles
couldn’t make my body move. Striding past me, he retrieved something from the
dresser and then returned with a sports bottle in his hand.
I tried to pull away, but he just
reached down and grabbed my head from behind, lifting it toward him. With his
teeth, he popped open the top of the bottle and then shoved it into my mouth.
Bitter-tasting liquid flooded my
throat. I choked, the drink spewing from my lips, but he just dropped the
bottle and clamped an enormous hand over the lower half of my face.
“Swallow,” he ordered.
I stared up at him. His grip
tightened on my hair, tugging at my scalp.
“Now.”
Someone shouted angrily from the
tiny speaker of the cordless phone, their words indecipherable. Earl’s face
darkened and he glanced to the window seat.
Spikes crept from my forearms,
finally answering the frantic signals from my brain. As he turned back toward
me, I flopped my arm out like the dead weight it was, succeeding in catching
his side.
With a pained cry, he lurched
away, his hand leaving my mouth.
I spit the liquid out and
struggled backward, half-crawling and half-tumbling from the opposite side of
the bed.
“Zeke,” I croaked.
He didn’t move.
Earl made a furious noise while he
straightened, clutching at his side. Blood darkened his flannel shirt.
But he didn’t look startled. He
didn’t look surprised in the least by the tips of the iridescent knives
protruding from my skin.
“What…” I tried. “Why are you…”
He glanced from me to Zeke, and
then to the phone still laying on the window seat. Annoyance twisted his face.
He reached over, retrieving the bottle from the floor, and then he returned his
gaze to me.
Clutching the edge of the bed, I
trembled. “Please. I’m not your enemy.”
“Tell that to my daughter.”
My brow furrowed.
He started around the bed. I
scuttled backward, my legs still refusing to hold me, though the spikes
listened and grew longer. Half-sprawled on the floor with my back to the wall,
I lifted one of my arms in front of me like a shield.
Earl stopped.
“I don’t…” I managed, breathing
hard with the effort of keeping my arm up. “I don’t know your daughter.
Please.”
A snarl curled across his mouth.
“Please,” he repeated scornfully.
He kicked my legs, toppling me
sideways. His hand came down on my wrist, avoiding the spikes, and he twisted
it. I shrieked as pain shot through my arm. Dropping the bottle from his other
hand, he took my throat.
“Stab me again and I break your
neck right now,” he growled.
